About Justine

justine re pantheon rome
Justine Re is currently a traffic anchor and reporter at Spectrum News NY1.  Before taking on her staff role in 2019 she worked at the station as a freelance reporter in 2018. She's no stranger to NY1.  Justine's first freelance job was as a video editor at NY1 in her senior year of college at Hofstra University.

Justine has received honors including a special mention at the New York Associated Press Club Awards, a Hearst Award, a Gracie Award, and Long Island Press Club awards.

Her love for storytelling began in the theater.  As a kid she performed in various off-broadway and regional theater productions.  Her work was reviewed in publications including the New York Times, Newsday, and Broadway.com among others.

Re previously worked as digital reporter at Inside Edition and a Traffic Reporter and Producer at WCBS 880. Before that she worked at News 12 Networks reporting news and traffic. She started her career right after college as a reporter at WBNG-TV in Binghamton, NY.  While at WBNG she interviewed the likes of Governor Andrew Cuomo, Bob Dole, and US Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, to name a few.

Her favorite assignment was on board the Twin Tiers Honor Fight from Binghamton, NY to Washington D.C where she interviewed veterans on their experiences overseas.

She is a proud alumni of Hofstra University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Rhetorical Studies.

Justine grew up in Wantagh, New York. When she’s not checking her maps, you may find her doing yoga, running, traveling, or spending time with friends, family, and her yellow lab Maisy.
